   Console tables
   A console table is a tall, slim piece designed to sit against a wall in narrow or underused spaces.
   
   Size and shape: Narrow and relatively tall, with a shallow depth that fits comfortably in hallways, entryways or behind sofas.
   
   Storage: Minimal. Most console tables offer a stylish surface for display, with perhaps a small drawer or lower shelf for keys, post or decorative accents.
   
   Function: Primarily decorative. They create a focal point in a room, providing a platform for lamps, mirrors, artwork, vases and everyday essentials.
   
   Placement: Ideal for hallways, entryways, alcoves, behind sofas or in bathrooms where space is limited.
   
   Sideboards
   A sideboard (sometimes called a buffet or credenza) is a larger, more substantial piece built for storage and organisation.
   
   Size and shape: Lower and wider than a console table, with a deeper profile that can accommodate dinnerware, linens and larger items.
   
   Storage: Generous. Sideboards typically feature multiple cabinets, drawers and shelves, offering ample space to hide and organise dining essentials, media equipment or household items.
   
   Function: Highly practical. They keep your home tidy while providing a broad surface for serving food, displaying decor or staging drinks when entertaining.
   
   Placement: Best suited to dining rooms, living rooms, larger hallways or home offices where floor space allows.

Will it fit your hallway?

To ensure a comfortable fit:

• Measure the width of your hallway from wall to wall.
• Aim to leave at least 75–90 cm of clear walkway after the table is in place. This allows two people to pass comfortably and prevents the space from feeling cramped.
• As a guide, in a hallway that is 120 cm wide, a console table up to 35–40 cm deep would work well. In a 100 cm hallway, look for tables around 25–30 cm deep.

Height and length considerations

Our console tables typically stand between 75 cm and 79 cm tall, which works well at standing height for dropping keys, post or arranging decor.

Our console tables are delivered partially assembled for safe and secure transit. Most designs require the tabletop to be attached to the base or legs, with clear assembly instructions included.

For example, the Austin Console Table requires the top to be assembled onto the base, while the Palazzo Marble Console Table needs the top attached to the base. The Henley Console Table arrives fully assembled with no assembly required.

We recommend assembling your console table in the room where it will be placed, on a soft surface such as a rug or towel to protect the finishes. All necessary fittings and guidance are provided, and the process is straightforward with basic tools.
