Give the rule: counter-height stools (~65cm seat) for worktops ~90cm; bar-height (~75cm) for islands ~105cm+. Tell them to leave ~25–30cm between seat and underside.

Measure floor to underside of counter, subtract ~25–30cm for legroom.
