A good rule of thumb is to choose a media unit that is at least as wide as your TV, and ideally a little wider, so the screen looks balanced and the unit feels grounded in the room. For a 55‑inch TV, a unit around 140–160 cm wide usually works well; for a 65‑inch screen, aim for roughly 160–180 cm or more, depending on your space and how much storage you need.

Think about height as well: the centre of the screen should sit at or just below eye level when you’re seated for comfortable viewing. If you plan to store components, games consoles or speakers inside, check the internal shelf heights to ensure everything will fit with room for ventilation.

Most of our media units are designed to accommodate popular screen sizes, including 55‑inch and 65‑inch TVs, as long as the unit is wide enough and the TV’s stand fits within the unit’s depth. The product details list the external width and depth, so you can compare these with your TV’s footprint.

If you’re using a wall bracket rather than the TV’s own stand, the unit mainly needs to be visually wide enough and spacious enough for your devices. Where you’re unsure, our team can confirm whether a particular model will work comfortably with your screen.

Our media units are crafted from robust materials such as solid wood, engineered wood, metal and marble, and are designed to support modern flat‑screen TVs with confidence. While exact capacities vary by design, most units comfortably carry typical 55‑ to 75‑inch TVs, which often weigh between 15 and 35 kg.

For heavier screens or if you plan to place additional items such as soundbars, speakers or decorative objects on top, choose a design with a solid top and sturdy construction. If you have a particularly large or heavy TV, we’re happy to advise on the most suitable options.

Many of our media units include practical cable‑management features to keep wires tidy and out of sight. Look for designs with open backs, cut‑outs in the rear panels or dedicated channels that allow cables to run neatly from the TV to your devices.

Where a unit has enclosed cupboards or drawers, you can route cables through the back and keep set‑top boxes, games consoles and streaming devices inside, with just the necessary leads visible. This helps maintain a clean, streamlined look in your living space.

In most cases, yes. Many of our media units have a generous top surface that easily accommodates a soundbar alongside or beneath the TV. If you prefer to hide the soundbar, look for designs with open shelving or cabinets with enough internal height and depth to house it discreetly.

Check the internal dimensions of any cupboards or shelves to ensure your soundbar will fit with a little room to spare for ventilation and cable access. If you share your soundbar’s measurements, we can confirm which units will work best.
